About the cafe

A warm meal, no questions asked.

The Chapel Cafe opened in November 2024 on the south side of the Seek And Find building. Every Saturday, volunteers cook and serve a free hot lunch, soup, a sandwich, chips, and a drink, for neighbors facing food insecurity. It's a full meal, served with care, because the people who walk through that door matter.

Every meal is packed to go, so you can take lunch with you if that's what your day needs. Or pull up a chair, stay a while, and eat with us. Either way, come as you are.

The cafe is a ministry to neighbors facing food insecurity: struggling families, children, seniors 65+, and those without a home. If you don't have enough to eat, or may not know where your next meal is coming from, this table is set for you. The cafe runs year-round.

The 24/7 Food Box

Right outside the front of the store on Garrard Avenue, there's a free food box, open day and night, every day of the year. Take what you need. Leave what you can.

📖 Free Bibles are in the box as well. Take one home.

🥫 Want to help keep it stocked? Canned goods and non-perishables only, please.

No schedule, no sign-in. Just food, whenever you need it.

Get involved

Help us feed our neighbors.

The Chapel Cafe runs because a team of volunteers shows up every Saturday morning to prepare and serve. It's funded by gifts from individuals, churches, and businesses, and the average meal costs about $5 per person, so every gift goes a long way. If you'd like to join the team or give, we'd love to hear from you.

If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him? … let us not love with words and tongue but with actions and in truth.
